Your Chatakpur (North Bengal) adventure typically begins from Kolkata.
- By Air: Fly into Bagdogra Airport (IXB). From there, head to Siliguri Bus Stand or Darjeeling More to catch a shared jeep to Sonada (approx. INR 250-300).
- By Train: Aim for New Jalpaiguri (NJP). Same onward journey to Sonada.
- By Bus: If trains are full, comfortable overnight buses (like Shyamoli for luxury, or Easyride/Aitiana Airwings for budget) run to Siliguri.
The Final Leg: From Sonada, brace yourself for an exciting off-road climb through dense forests. Strongly advise pre-arranging a pickup jeep with your homestay owner – it’s the best way to tackle the rugged terrain and ensures a smooth arrival at your cozy haven.
